At Janini IVF, we continue to advance fertility treatment through clinical innovation. We are proud to be among the first in India to introduce Robotic ICSI, a next-generation approach to sperm injection that brings greater precision and consistency to the IVF process.

Understanding Robotic ICSI

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) has been a widely used method in assisted reproduction for over 20 years. However, conventional ICSI relies heavily on the manual skills of the embryologist, which can lead to variability in outcomes.

Robotic ICSI uses automated micro-tools, sometimes referred to as nanobots, to perform key steps in the fertilisation process. These include identifying viable sperm, positioning them accurately, and injecting them into the egg using automated control. This reduces operator dependency and increases standardisation.

In clinical research, Robotic ICSI has shown encouraging results:

  • Fertilisation rates of over 96%

  • Blastocyst formation in 67% of cases

  • Clinical pregnancy rates of up to 75%

These findings are based on studies involving 156 couples using both self and donor eggs.

Janini IVF’s Technology Edge

At Janini IVF, we have developed a customised Robotic ICSI system designed to improve consistency and efficiency:

  • A vacuum-based cell holding system enables immobilisation of multiple oocytes at once, streamlining preparation

  • An integrated visual tracking algorithm enhances sperm selection by identifying optimal candidates based on motility and morphology

Our system demonstrates more than 95% success in sperm delivery across a diverse patient group. These tools allow us to reduce human error and offer high reproducibility, independent of operator skill.

Clinical Readiness and Future Outlook

While Robotic ICSI is not yet in routine clinical use, we are actively conducting in-house trials and protocol development. Janini IVF is positioned to lead the introduction of this method in India, with a focus on standardised outcomes and patient safety.

Robotic ICSI represents a significant advancement in reproductive technology. By minimising manual intervention, this system has the potential to improve fertilisation outcomes and create more predictable success rates for IVF.

We will continue to share clinical findings as development progresses.
