ERA

What is ERA or Endometrial Receptivity Array (or Endometrial Receptivity Analysis)?

ERA is a new technology incorporating some of the fascinating aspects of molecular science that detect certain key molecules that are responsible for making the mother’s body (endometrial lining of the uterus) accept the incoming baby (embryo). This embryo - endometrial ‘dialogue’ is a dynamic process and this very phenomenon determines the fate of the incoming embryo - whether it will be implanted (accepted) or not implanted (rejected), irrespective of how good it is.

ERA aims to help us figure out whether the mother’s uterus is ready (or receptive) for the incoming embryo, or not. Simply put, it gives us a fair probability of an IVF cycle succeeding (i.e. receptive endometrium) versus not succeeding (non-receptive endometrium). Although not fool-proof, this technology is improving in its accuracy and reliability characteristics.

Most affordable IVF clinic in NCR

Any disadvantage of doing ERA?

At the most trusted and most affordable IVF clinic in NCR, it is believed that the only downside to doing ERA is the increased time spent. Since we cannot transfer the embryos in the same cycle of sending the endometrial biopsy sample, ERA makes us wait for at least one more month to know if we could transfer the embryos the next cycle. But as everything good comes after a period of wait, this waiting could very well help a couple achieving their dream of a healthy live born baby.

Is ERA for me?

ERA is particularly helpful in couples who have gone through previous attempts at IVF but have failed. By making use of this brilliant ERA technology, Dr Rutvij Dalal, leading IVF specialist in Delhi , has given numerous successes to distraught couples with previous history of multiple failed IVF cycles. If repeated IVF cycles are failing in spite of good quality embryos, one can check the endometrium by way of ERA and help a couple have a successful outcome to their IVF or ICSI cycle.

What is Uterine Nk (Natural Killer) Cell Activity Tests and does Janini IVF provide this facility?

NK cells are the immune cells of the uterus. During fertilization, the body suppresses the NK cell activity in order to ensure the embryo is implanted. However, in some cases, these cells may show high levels of activity which attack the embryo and prevent it from implantation. This test is done for patients who have had recurrent implantation failure. Yes, we do offer this test and recommend it together with ERA for patients going for it. Both tests can be carried out on the same sample.
